Outlet Baltimore

Honest drinks in good company.

History of Outlet

Outlet was born in an ice storm.

Back in late 2008, Neal Shaffer and Steve Goodman started kicking around an idea for an event that would bring together the emerging but, at the time, somewhat disparate creative and tech communities. That idea grew into Outlet Baltimore, the first of which was scheduled for January 28, 2009.

On that day, we had an ice storm. A fairly big one, too. But being the hearty souls that we are, we persevered. Much to our surprise the event was a success. We knew then we were onto something.

From there we went on to do four more events in 2009 before deciding to take a break. We didn’t think it would be a two year break, but here we are, now with the good folks from Drexler in the organizational fold.

Outlet is back because we think it’s now as needed as ever. There’s even more noise than there was in 2009. More vultures circling. More opportunities to lose sight of the things that truly matter (hint: not Google+).

Outlet is an antidote.
